Has it really been...

...two weeks since my last post?!? Where is the month of January going?!?? Oh.My. I have no excuse for not blogging...well, maybe a few. Getting some projects done...working with a couple of super fab kits...trying to organize my creative space (more on that later!)

Here are a couple sneak peeks of projects I created with the super cute, colorful & retro December Hip Kit. These will be posted on the Hip 2B Square blog very soon...

Have you visited the Paper Issues blog lately? Love is in the air over there! A new 'Issue' has been posted. Go check it out...and link up your sweet Valentine projects for a chance to win a S.E.I. prize package! I need to get busy on my Valentine cards & a couple other love-ly projects I have in mind. I did have fun playing with the Cake Slice box and Heart Pocket templates from the January/February 2011 issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

You can find both of these templates, plus other cute ones, here.

And speaking of cake...there's some in my very near future! I'm so glad the weekend is here - lots of fun things ahead plus a birthday cake, for me! Cherry Chip is my favorite...what's yours?

Hip Kit November Projects

TGIF my friends! I. Am. Pooped. I'm not sure what it is, but I have a feeling it is all the catching up this week on a bunch of work after slacking & playing around the holidays PLUS the extra exercise that I've added to my daily activities. Cultivating good habits & sticking to far so good! LOL.

A couple days ago, I realized that I haven't even shared a sneak peek of my projects using the Hip 2B Square November Hip Kit! Me oh my. Kimberly has had them on display in the store for the past month, but I did want to share here bear with me as I reminisce on a few of my Christmas projects from last month!

I loved the Add-On kit for November, which included the fun Mini Scalloped Chipboard Banner from Maya Road, some Metallic Maya Mist in one of their new colors (Antique Patina) and the super cute Sassafras Lass 'Krafty' cardstock stickers. I misted the naked chipboard banner pieces, applied the alpha stickers & strung up the pieces with the brown jute twine. I love how it turned out!

This next layout was inspired by a sketch from Pencil Lines, Sketch 216 by Piradee Talvanna.

I did a little fussy cutting on the poinsettias and leaves. A little bit of misting and lots of layering. And those fun little Maya Road Canvas Flowers with the wood button centers were part of the Add-On kit too.

These next couple of layouts were my favorites of the bunch. I love this Basic Grey 'Blizzard' paper from their Jovial collection. It's such a pretty aquamarine color...and I love how it looks with the craft paper!
I did some more fussy cutting...this time cutting snowflakes out of the Making Memories Noel green snowflake paper. I applied a bit of Glossy Accents to them and curled up the edges a bit for some added dimension.
 And a few cards...
You can't really tell from the photo, but this card has some crunchy glitter on it for a little snowy sparkle!

Now that I've shared these projects, Christmas 2010 is a wrap! Oh wait...still working on my December Daily. Well, it's pretty much a wrap. And now...on to a whole new year of fun crafty projects! Can't wait to see what 2011 has in store. Oh! I do know of one thing...this next Hip Kit should be arriving anyday!

Fun, eh? Don't you just love those Modern Homemaker chipboard stickers from October Afternoon?!? And those metal posies from Sassafras Lass?!?! Oh my...can't wait to play...

Citrus Tree Studio 'Flea Market Finds' January Kit

Hi my friends! It's reveal day over at Citrus Tree Studio....and the January 'Flea Market Finds' kit will be available today! This is one fabulous kit...not only does it have a great name, it's chock FULL of Crate Paper goodness! This kit features papers and embellishments from Crate Paper's Restoration collection and has a smidge of Pink Paislee, Jenni Bowlin & Basic Grey goodness thrown in too. I had so much fun creating with this kit...

Our niece, Ashley, is a very talented girl - she was born to twirl on her toes! This past Christmas season she danced in Ballet Northwest's Nutcracker...and wore the most adorable pancake tutu. She was beautiful! The kit includes this darling dress form chipboard from Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology collection. I sanded & scruffed it up a bit, then embellished it with a crepe paper & tulle skirt, a metal rose brad from American Crafts and a bit of bakers twine. I love how girly & fun it is! I also adore the doily print paper from Crate Paper. Yum!

In June, we celebrated my mama's birthday at The Melting Pot restaurant. It was such a fun celebration...for such an amazing woman.

I love how the embellishments from this kit look when they're clustered & layered together. A bit eclectic - right up my alley!

And no, I'm not sick of banners yet...ones to hang in my house, ones on layouts, ones on them all. Add a little glitter...even better!

And one last layout to share. This one features our handsome, sweet and very bright nephew, Alex. Yes, he's a senior in high school and is still extremely sweet! He's just an all around great kid. He indeed makes us so very proud. Can't believe he's old enough to be applying to college though...oh my, where does the time go?!?

I'll be back tomorrow to share the cards that I created with this kit. Until then, you can find more details & see the amazing projects created by the other CTS Designers here and here.

I'm glad you stopped by & wish you a very creative day...

One Little Word

I love Ali Edwards' concept of One Little Word. Over the New Year's weekend, I spent some time contemplating what my word would be for 2011. My word is cultivate.

cul.ti.vate, v.
-to plant seeds and take care of the growing plants
-improve; develop
-give time, thought, and effort to
-to seek better acquaintance with

I'm so excited to reflect on this word and apply it to so many areas of my faith. my marriage. friendships. exercise. organization. creativity.
Definitely looking forward to this One Little Word journey...

What is your word for 2011? If you haven't decided on one yet, check out this super cool Wordle word cloud on Ali's blog, along with the list of words from her of those little words just might reach out & grab ya!
